We are a branch of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, known as The Mother Church.

We hope you’ll find answers to many of your questions about Christian Science on our site and through the embedded links. We’ve also provided a separate “Links” page for you to further explore the theology, history and activities of the world-wide Christian Science Church and its founder, Mary Baker Eddy.

Christian Science is defined in part by Mrs. Eddy as “the law of God, the law of good….” These laws were discovered by Mrs. Eddy in reading and praying about the healings of Christ Jesus in the Bible. By putting these laws, or principles, into practice, she was able to bring about healings of aggressive and long-standing diseases and dire situations. She wrote a book about her discovery of these laws of healing and titled it Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Its intent is to unlock the treasures of Truth in the Bible, getting beyond the literal reading to understand and utilize the Power of God’s Word. Her hope was that anyone could read Science and Health and the Bible and understand these laws for themselves, and by putting them into practice could heal themselves and others. Students of Christian Science study these books every day and have witnessed healings, large and small, in their own lives.

Christian Science is a deeply Christian religion. We strive to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, putting into practice what he said were the two greatest commandments: loving God before all else, and loving our neighbor as ourselves. Our church services and Reading Room are public venues to share Christian Science with our neighbors and community.

The sign on our door says “All Are Welcome” – and we mean it! Come as you are and learn more about your true identity as a loved child of God.
